Before ordering a suit in Bangkok, confirm the tailoring method, fabric, construction, total price, fitting schedule and care instructions. Ask for the agreed specifications, fitting dates and collection date in writing.
A shop window tells you little about how your own suit will be made. These 12 questions to ask a Bangkok tailor help you compare quotes and plan your fittings before committing to an order.

1. Is this made to measure or bespoke?
Made to measure usually starts from an existing pattern adapted to your measurements. Traditional bespoke starts with a pattern drafted for you and develops the fit through fittings.
Ask which process is included in your quote and how posture or fit concerns will be handled. The word “custom” is used broadly, so ask the tailor to explain how your suit will be made.
Our guide to custom and bespoke suits explains the differences in more detail.
2. Can you complete my suit before I leave Bangkok?
Ask for an agreed completion date based on your suit and the studio’s current schedule.
Give the Bangkok tailor your arrival date, departure time and availability for fittings. Fabric stock, construction and adjustments can all affect timing.
A straightforward custom suit in 48 hours may be possible, but this should be confirmed for your order. If you leave Friday afternoon, for example, ask whether collection can be scheduled on Thursday to allow time for final adjustments.
3. How many fittings will I need and when will they happen?
Confirm when you will try on the developing suit and when the finished garment will be checked. Ask how extra adjustments would affect the schedule.
At fittings, sit down, walk a little and move your arms naturally. Mention pulling, slipping or tightness while the tailor can assess it. Bring the shirt and shoes you expect to wear.
At New Armani Tailor Studio, our tailoring process includes a first fitting followed by a final fit and finishing check.
4. What exactly is the fabric I am choosing?
Ask for the fibre composition, fabric reference and any claimed mill or country of origin.
“Wool blend” does not tell you the proportion of wool or what it is blended with. Ask to see the fabric-book entry, then have the selected code and composition recorded on your order.
That gives both you and the tailor a clear reference when the finished suit is ready.
5. Will this fabric suit the climate where I will wear it?
Choose fabric for the conditions in which you will wear the suit, considering the lining and construction too.
A suit for outdoor events in Thailand needs a different discussion from one for a cool office in Europe. Ask about breathability, creasing and how the fabric holds its shape.
Our guide to suit fabrics for Bangkok’s hot weather explains options to discuss. If you mainly plan to wear the suit back home, tell us your usual climate.
6. How will the jacket be constructed?
Ask whether the jacket is fused, half canvassed or fully canvassed, and which option your quote covers.
These terms describe how the front of the jacket is supported. Fused construction uses a bonded interlining; canvassed construction uses a sewn-in canvas layer, with the extent varying by method.
Ask to see sample jackets and discuss their structure, weight and price. Do not assume a suit is fully canvassed simply because it is described as bespoke.
Planning a short visit? Send us your travel dates on Whatsappand tell us what you would like made. We can discuss fitting availability before you book.
7. What is included in the total price?
Request an itemised quote that states every garment and any additional charges.
Check whether the total covers the selected fabric, lining, fittings and taxes. Ask separately about extra trousers, shirts, delivery and any express service.
New Armani Tailor Studio’s current starting package is listed at THB 6,500 for a jacket, trousers, shirt and tie. Confirm the fabric and construction included, then request a quote for your exact order.
8. Which style details can I customise?
Agree on the details that will be customised before the fabric is cut.
Discuss jacket length, lapel shape, pockets, buttons, lining and trouser rise. Bring reference pictures and explain what you like about them, such as a softer shoulder or more room through the leg.
Ask which choices suit your proportions and whether any changes affect the price or completion date.
9. Can I see examples of work similar to my order?
Ask to see a finished suit in a comparable fabric and price range.
Look at how the collar sits, how the seams lie and how the jacket hangs. Check buttonholes and lining, and ask which details will match your order. A display suit from a different price tier may have different construction.
Recent reviews can also help you assess communication and fitting experiences.
10. What are the deposit and payment terms?
Ask how much is due now, when the balance is payable and what happens if you change or cancel the order.
Confirm accepted payment methods and any fees. Keep the receipt and written order summary, including your chosen fabric and collection date.
If your travel plans change, you should know whom to contact and how the order will be handled.
11. How should I care for my suit after collection?
Ask your Bangkok tailor how to clean, press and store your chosen fabric. Understanding its care needs can help you decide whether it suits your routine.
If you are travelling, ask how to pack the suit and handle creases after unpacking. Check whether professional cleaning is recommended and which care methods to avoid.
Request clear care instructions when you collect your finished suit.
12. Can I reorder or arrange delivery after leaving Thailand?
Ask whether your measurements and style details can be saved, and how future orders or overseas delivery would work.
At New Armani Tailor Studio in Bangkok, we keep your measurements on file for repeat orders and offer worldwide shipping. Before arranging delivery, contact us to confirm availability for your destination, dispatch times, tracking and shipping costs.
Confirm who is responsible for any import charges. For later orders, tell the tailor if your measurements or preferred fit have changed so your records can be reviewed.
